My name is Miguel Villanueva, however, my family back in Santiago, Dominican Republic call me “Miguelito.”  I have been providing individual and group psychotherapy for the past 9 years. I am here to assist you to reach your goals in culturally-competent therapy for Men of Color. I provide a safe, warm, and interactive space to talk about your presenting issues. I have experience providing therapy to individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, and family conflicts. I utilize multiple treatment modalities (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Crisis Intervention, and Relational Therapeutic techniques) that would be would be best for you and your specific needs.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Pennsylvania (license #: CW019169) and in the state of California (license#: LCSW83893), I am a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work (BCD) of the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work. In addition, I am a Certified Complex Trauma Professional (CCTP-II) from the International Association of Trauma Professionals and a Certified Case Manager (CCM) from the Commission for Case Management Certification. Outside of psychotherapy, I have experience in behavioral health research, HIV/AIDs education & counseling, teaching, medical social work, and leadership.
